About Dave
Dave Brons, is a British guitarist who specialises in writing Prog Rock with a Celtic Symphonic twist.

In 2021 Brons placed in the Top 10 in PROG, the worlds most prestigious Prog Rock Magazine in the Unsigned Artist category (for independent/non record label musicians)

He quit his regular job in 2015 to go into composing and performing full time.

After placing in the Top 16 in the world in the Guitar Idol competition, he released his debut album: "Based on a True Story" which was produced and mixed by Dave Bainbridge, founder of Celtic Prog super Group IONA, and featured guest appearences from Troy Donockley (Nightwish) Paul Bielatowicz (Neal Morse, Carl Palmer Band) and Tom Quayle (Ibanez Artist)

That album sold well but it was his next 2 albums, the Lord of the Rings inspired "Not all Those Who Wander are Lost" and "Return to Arda" that really caught the attention of the prog world and recieved incredible reviews from the US, Holland, Japan, France, UK and more.

"Not all Those Who Wander are Lost" and subsequently "Return to Arda" recieved amazing plaudits in the Rock Press including getting  voted #1 Album of 2022 on ProgArchives.com!

Not since Jeff Wayne’s legendary opus ‘The War of the Worlds’ have the twin arts of music and literature been so perfectly and wonderfully intertwined as they are in this new release from Dave Brons.

Brons has Steve Vai sized axe chops but lets the Symphonic pallete do the Tolkien (sorry!), the widdle couched in beautifully realised mystical atmospheres that LOTR movie composer Howard Shore himself would be proud of"
PROG Magazine issue 123 - OCT 21

‘Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost is an album that works on every level, with stunning musicianship and melodies that I for one will never tire of hearing. Dave Brons set himself a monumental task with this album and has pulled it off in style.’

Dave's unique guitar playing style caught the attention of Lick Library, one of the biggest online guitar tuition sites, and they released a tuition package called Celtic Shred

Dave has also had praise from many big names in prog and instrumental rock circles:

“Dave Brons is that rare guitarist: Technically brilliant but melodic and soulful.
He has a truly unique direction to his playing: He secretly wishes he played the ‘Celtic instruments’ and , as a result, takes his frustration out on the fretboard to dazzling and splendid effect!

Troy Donockley (Nightwish)

“Dave Brons is an imaginative player with a great groove. I loved hearing his unique take on my music when we played together and look forward to hearing a lot more music from him”

Stu Hamm (Bassist for Steve Vai, Joe Satriani)

Dave Brons is an exceptional guitarist, with a particular ability to conjure a superb, spine tingling, lyrical tone from his guitar. His impressive technical facility never overshadows his innate melodic sensibility and musicality. ‘Star’ demonstrates Dave’s vision to integrate cinematic orchestral textures with soaring guitar leads, which combine to touch the heart.
